Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Bake the Ham
Thaw ham in refrigerator for at least 24 hours prior to cooking.
Remove ham from packaging. Wrap ham in foil twice, covering completely. Discard packaging and bone-in shield.Place foil-wrapped ham on prepared baking sheet.Bake on middle rack in hot oven until ham reaches a minimum internal temperature of 140 degrees. For fully-thawed ham, bake 80-95 minutes. For partially-thawed ham, bake 21/2-3 hours.Carefully remove from oven. Rest baked ham in foil, 15-20 minutes.After resting, remove foil and serve. Bon appétit!
