Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

    Cook the Filling

    Drain and rinse beans in a colander/strainer.

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add onions, ground turkey, taco seasoning, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 7-9 minutes.

    Add tomato sauce, beans, corn, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Stir often until combined and corn is heated through, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner and stir in softened cream cheese until combined.

    Assemble the Quesadillas

    Place tortillas on a clean, flat work surface.

    Evenly divide cheddar cheese between tortillas, placing on one half. Evenly top cheese with filling.

    Fold tortillas over filling, pressing gently to adhere.

    Toast the Quesadillas

    Place another large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Working in batches, place quesadillas in hot pan. Toast until golden-brown, 1-2 minutes per side.

    Replenish oil, if necessary.

    Remove from burner.

    While quesadillas toast, continue recipe.

    Make Cheese Sauce and Finish Dish

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine cream base, nacho/taco cheese, chiles (to taste), and a pinch of salt. Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the chiles.

    Microwave uncovered until cheese is melted, 60-90 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave and stir to combine.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping quesadilla with cheese sauce. Slice quesadilla into triangles, if desired. Bon appétit!
