A note about serious food allergies

Here's the best way of telling your noodles apart: spaghetti is round and fettuccine is flat. F is for fettucine and F is for flat. F is also for flavor here, with feisty sausage, garlic, marinara, and Parmesan bringing their A game to this A+ meal. The only "F is for failure" you'll find with this meal is your sadness if you fail to add it to your box.

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using 16 oz. Italian sausage, follow same instructions as 8 oz. Italian sausage, working in batches if necessary.

  • If using ground turkey, follow same instructions as Italian sausage in Steps 1 and 2, breaking up turkey until no pink remains and turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 7-9 minutes.

  • If using steak strips, spread into a single layer, pat dry, and coarsely chop. Follow same instructions as Italian sausage in Steps 1 and 2, stirring occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

  1. 1

    Cook the Sausage

Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

Add 1 tsp. olive oil and Italian sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains, 3-4 minutes.

While sausage browns, trim zucchini ends, halve lengthwise, and cut into 1/2" slices.

    Mince garlic.

  2. 2

    Add the Vegetables

Add garlic, Italian seasoning, and zucchini to hot pan. Stir occasionally until vegetables are lightly browned and tender and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

Add flour and stir until no dry flour remains, 30-45 seconds.

  3. 3

    Add the Sauce

Stir marinara, 1 1/2 cups water, and mirepoix base into hot pan until combined. Bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, add pasta and stir to combine. Cover, and cook until pasta is al dente, 3-4 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

  4. 4

    Finish the Dish

Stir butter (to taste) into pan until melted and combined.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing with cheese. Bon appétit!
