Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Prepare the Ingredients
Cut mushrooms into 1/4" slices.
Trim and thinly slice green onions.Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. -
2 Cook the Mushrooms and Sausage
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add mushrooms, a pinch of salt, red pepper flakes (use less if spice-averse), and sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes. -
3 Add the Sauce
Add half the green onions (reserve remaining for garnish) to hot pan. Stir occasionally until fragrant, 1-2 minutes.
Add balsamic vinegar, tomato sauce, 2 Tbsp. water, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. -
4 Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Once simmering, add pasta to hot pan. Stir occasionally until pasta is coated and heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Remove from burner and stir in softened butter until combined.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with cheese and remaining green onions. Bon appétit!
