Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally in a medium non-stick pan over medium heat with 1 tsp. olive oil until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

    Prepare the Vegetables

    Drain potatoes in a colander/strainer. Combine potatoes, fajita seasoning, 1 tsp. olive oil, and a pinch of pepper in provided tray. Push to one side of tray.

    Add poblanos (use less if spice-averse) to empty side of stray.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 15 minutes.

    Add the Steak Strips

    Carefully remove tray from oven.

    Pat steak strips dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces.

    Add steak strips and garlic salt to poblanos side and stir to combine. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Bake Meal and Toast Buns

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 15 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Top steak-poblano mixture with cheese.

    Place buns directly on oven rack, cut-sides up.

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until buns are toasted, potatoes are tender, and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 3-5 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray and buns from oven. Rest, 3 minutes.

    To serve, top bottom bun with steak-poblano mixture (to taste), dressing (to taste), crispy onions, and top bun. Bon appétit!
