Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Mince garlic. Pat sliced pork dry and coarsely chop.

    Cook the Pork Broccoli Mixture

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp. olive oil. Add broccoli and a pinch of salt to hot pan. Stir occasionally, 3 minutes. Add sliced pork. Stir occasionally until browned and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 5-7 minutes. Add garlic, cream cheese, and ¼ cup water. Stir until cream cheese is melted and slightly thickened, 1-2 minutes. Stir in half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for topping) and ¼ tsp. salt. Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes. While pork cooks, bake flatbreads.

    Bake the Flatbreads

    Place flatbreads directly on oven rack in hot oven and bake until flatbread edges are brown and crispy, 5-7 minutes.

    Melt the Cheese

    Carefully remove flatbread from oven and place on baking sheet. Top with pork-broccoli mixture, then mozzarella. Bake again in hot oven until cheese melts, 2-3 minutes. Top baked flatbreads with remaining Parmesan and red pepper flakes (to taste).
