Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Stir occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

1 Cook the Chicken
Pat chicken dry and season all over with Italian seasoning, half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for sauce), and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Don't worry about trimming. Excess fat will render while cooking and add flavor.
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.Add chicken to hot pan. Stir occasionally until chicken is lightly browned and reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.Turn heat to medium-high. Transfer chicken to a plate and keep pan over medium-high heat; no need to wipe clean. -
2 Make the Sauce
Add 1 tsp. olive oil and minced garlic and parsley to hot pan. Stir constantly until garlic is fragrant, 30-60 seconds.
Add tomato sauce, butter, and remaining garlic salt. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. -
3 Add the Chicken, Pasta, and Cheese
Once simmering, add chicken, pasta, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Stir often until combined and pasta is heated through, 2-3 minutes.
Evenly top with mozzarella and Parmesan. Cover and cook until cheeses are melted, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner.While pasta cooks, continue recipe. -
4 Toast Panko, Prepare Basil, and Finish Dish
Combine panko and 1 tsp. olive oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until golden-brown and toasted, 1-2 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
While panko microwaves, stem basil and tear leaves.Carefully remove panko from microwave.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta skillet with panko and basil. Bon appétit!
