Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Turn oven on to 400 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry.

    Combine rice, 1/2 cup water, marinara sauce, pepper and onion mix, and chicken base in provided tray.

    Add the Italian Sausage

    Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary, and break into quarter-sized pieces. Spread evenly over rice.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until Italian sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 25-30 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Crush croutons in shipping bag. Stir cream cheese and shredded cheese into tray until creamy.

    To serve, top with crushed croutons. Bon appétit!
