Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

  • If using Impossible burger, break up until protein reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

  • If using shrimp, pat dry. Cook until pink and shrimp reach minimum internal temperature, 2-3 minutes per side.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/4" slices.

    Pat steak strips dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Season all over with 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper.

    Start the Stir-Fry

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add steak strips to hot pan. Stir occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    Transfer steak strips to a plate. Rest, 3 minutes.

    Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.

    While steak strips cook, continue recipe.

    Cook the Rice

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Place rice, 2 Tbsp. water, butter, half the soy sauce (reserve remaining for stir-fry), and 1/4 tsp. salt in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover with a damp paper towel.

    Microwave covered until water is absorbed, 1-2 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Add peas and stir to combine. Microwave again uncovered until rice and peas are heated through, 1-2 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave.

    Finish Stir-Fry and Finish Dish

    Return pan used to cook steak strips to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add bell peppers to hot pan and stir occasionally until beginning to brown and soften, 2-3 minutes.

    Add cooked steak strips, remaining soy sauce, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Stir occasionally until steak and bell pepper are coated, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with stir-fry. Bon appétit!
