Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    Prepare The Ingredients

    Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Cook The Beef

    "Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, 1 tsp olive oil, ¼ tsp salt and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Add The Vegetables and Pasta

    Add green onion bottoms and peas and cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly tender, 3-5 minutes. Add cream cheese, garlic salt, 3 cups water, ¼ tsp salt and a pinch of pepper and bring to a simmer. Stir in pasta. Cover and cook until tender, 8-10 minutes.

    Add Beef and Sauce

    Once pasta is cooked, remove lid and stir in mushroom sauce and beef.
