Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground beef, add meatballs to hot pot and cook until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 10-12 minutes.

If using ground turkey, add meatballs to hot pot and cook until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 11-13 minutes.

1 Cook Pasta and Prepare Ingredients
Break pasta in half.
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 8-10 minutes.Remove from burner. Drain pasta in a colander/strainer and set aside. Wipe pot clean and reserve.While pasta cooks, peel and trim carrot. Halve lengthwise and cut into 1/4” half-moons on an angle.Remove any discolored outer leaves from bok choy and trim ends. Cut stems into 1/2" slices and coarsely chop leaves. Keep stems and leaves separate.Coarsely chop cilantro (no need to stem).Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate. -
2 Form the Meatballs
In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, Asian garlic, ginger & chile seasoning (use less if spice-averse), soy sauce, panko, and white portions of green onions.
Form mixture into 12 equally-sized meatballs. -
3 Sear the Meatballs
Return pot used to cook pasta to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add meatballs to hot pot and stir occasionally until slightly browned, 5-7 minutes.Meatballs will finish cooking in a later step.Drain any excess liquid, if desired. -
4 Start the Soup
Add bok choy stems, carrots, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pot with meatballs. Stir occasionally until vegetables are slightly browned, 3-5 minutes.
Add 5 cups water, ramen base, and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. -
5 Finish Soup and Finish Dish
Once simmering, add pasta and bok choy leaves to hot pot. Stir occasionally until meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-6 minutes.
Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping soup with green portions of green onions and cilantro. Bon appétit!
