Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, add meatballs to hot pot and cook until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 10-12 minutes.

  • If using ground turkey, add meatballs to hot pot and cook until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 11-13 minutes.

  1. 1

    Cook Pasta and Prepare Ingredients

    Break pasta in half.

Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 8-10 minutes.

Remove from burner. Drain pasta in a colander/strainer and set aside. Wipe pot clean and reserve.

While pasta cooks, peel and trim carrot. Halve lengthwise and cut into 1/4” half-moons on an angle.

Remove any discolored outer leaves from bok choy and trim ends. Cut stems into 1/2" slices and coarsely chop leaves. Keep stems and leaves separate.

Coarsely chop cilantro (no need to stem).

Trim and thinly slice green onions, keeping white and green portions separate.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, Asian garlic, ginger & chile seasoning (use less if spice-averse), soy sauce, panko, and white portions of green onions.

Form mixture into 12 equally-sized meatballs.

  3. 3

    Sear the Meatballs

Return pot used to cook pasta to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add meatballs to hot pot and stir occasionally until slightly browned, 5-7 minutes.

Meatballs will finish cooking in a later step.

Drain any excess liquid, if desired.

  4. 4

    Start the Soup

Add bok choy stems, carrots, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pot with meatballs. Stir occasionally until vegetables are slightly browned, 3-5 minutes.

Add 5 cups water, ramen base, and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

  5. 5

    Finish Soup and Finish Dish

Once simmering, add pasta and bok choy leaves to hot pot. Stir occasionally until meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-6 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping soup with green portions of green onions and cilantro. Bon appétit!
