Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F
  1. 1

    Cook Turkey and Green Beans

Pat turkey dry, and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Place a large oven-safe pan over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp. olive oil. Add turkey to hot pan and sear undisturbed until lightly browned, 5-7 minutes.

Transfer turkey to one side of prepared baking sheet. Add green beans, 1 tsp. olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper to empty side and spread into a single layer. Massage oil into green beans. Roast in hot oven until turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees and green beans are tender, but still crisp, 10-15 minutes.

Remove turkey to a plate and rest at least 5 minutes.

Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.

While turkey and green beans roast, mash potatoes.

  2. 2

    Mash the Potatoes

Place a small pot with potatoes and 1/2 cup water over medium-high heat.

Stir potatoes occasionally until water is mostly evaporated and potatoes are fork-tender, 8-10 minutes.

Remove from burner. Mash potatoes until desired consistency is reached. If potatoes are too thick, add hot water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Make the Gravy

Add 1 cup water to the hot pan used to sear turkey, scraping the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon to loosen up the tasty browned bits.

Transfer water to a cup or bowl. Return pan to medium-high heat. Add butter and stir until melted, 30-60 seconds.

Add flour and stir constantly until fully incorporated, 1-2 minutes.

    Cook, 30-60 seconds.

Add reserved water. Bring to a boil and whisk until thoroughly combined, 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Finish the Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, drizzling gravy over sliced turkey and mashed potatoes. Garnish green beans with almonds. Bon appétit!
