Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using ground turkey, break up until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 6-8 minutes.

1 Cook the Pork
Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add ground pork, onions, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-7 minutes.Add minced garlic and parsley and stir often until fragrant, 30-60 seconds. -
2 Add the Sauce and Pasta
Add marinara, 1/3 cup water, garlic salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, stir often until sauce is slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes.If sauce is too thick, add additional water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Add Sicilian sauce (to taste), cheese, and pasta. Stir occasionally until combined and heated through, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner. -
3 Toast the Bacon Breadcrumbs
Line a plate with a paper towel. Place a small non-stick pan over medium heat.
Add bacon to hot, dry pan and stir occasionally until crispy, 1-2 minutes.Add panko and stir constantly until golden-brown and toasted, 30-60 seconds.Remove from burner. Transfer to towel-lined plate. -
4 Finish the Dish
