Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Prepare The Ingredients

    Peel and halve shallot. Slice thinly. Remove Italian sausage from casing. Separate steak strips into a single layer and pat dry. Drain beans Core tomato and cut into ½" dice

    Cook The Sausage

    "Heat a medium pot over medium-high heat. Add Italian sausage and 2 tsp olive oil to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes."

    Add Steak

    Add steak strips and half the seasoning blend to pan and cook until no pink remains, 4-5 minutes.

    Add Vegetables

    Add peas, remaining seasoning blend, and shallots to pan and cook 2-3 minutes. Add demi, tomato paste, tomatoes, beans and 1 cup water. Bring to a simmer.
