Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Cook The Pasta

    Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 11-13 minutes. Drain, reserving 1 cup of cooking liquid. Set aside.

    While pasta cooks, prepare the meatballs.

    Prepare The Meatballs

    Lightly beat egg.

    Add beef, egg, half the garlic salt, panko, and a pinch of salt and pepper to a medium bowl until completely combined. Divide mixture into 8 evenly sized balls.

    Cook The Meatballs

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add meatballs to hot pan and stir occasionally until browned all over and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 10-14 minutes.

    Transfer to a plate. Reserve pan; wipe clean.

    Finish The Pasta

    In the same pan over medium heat, add demi, cream cheese, remaining garlic salt, and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a simmer. and cook until slightly thickened, 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in pasta, butter, dijon, and meatballs.

    Make The Sauce and Finish The Dish

    Add cranberry sauce and lemon juice to a small bowl until completely combined.
