Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    Microwave Instructions

    Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry. Drain brisket and separate slices.

    In one section of provided tray, combine poblanos and 1 tsp. olive oil. Place bacon in empty section.

    Microwave uncovered until poblanos soften and bacon crisps, 1-2 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. In a mixing bowl, combine apple butter, chipotle paste (to taste), and BBQ sauce. In section with poblano, vigorously stir in mashed potatoes and cheese. Remove bacon from tray and set aside. Add brisket and apple-chipotle sauce to now-empty section.

    Cover tray with a damp paper towel. Microwave until heated through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from microwave. Vigorously stir mashed potatoes.

    To serve, garnish potatoes with bacon and crispy onions. Bon appétit!

    Oven Instructions

    Turn oven on to 375 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry. Drain brisket and separate slices.

    In one section of provided tray, combine poblanos and 1 tsp. olive oil. Place bacon in empty section of tray.

    Place tray on a baking sheet. Bake uncovered in hot oven until poblanos soften and bacon crisps, 10-12 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. In a mixing bowl, combine apple butter, chipotle paste (to taste), and BBQ sauce. In section with poblano, vigorously stir in mashed potatoes and cheese. Remove bacon from tray and set aside. Add brisket and apple-chipotle sauce to now-empty section.

    Cover tray with foil and place on a baking sheet. Bake again covered in hot oven until heated through, 15-20 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Vigorously stir mashed potatoes.

    To serve, garnish potatoes with bacon and crispy onions. Bon appétit!
