Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using sirloin steaks, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Peel apple, quarter, and remove core. Cut into 1/4" slices.

    Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" slices.

    Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides with savory seasoning and half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for cabbage).

    Cook the Pork Chops

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add pork chops to hot pan. Cook until golden-brown and chops reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 3-5 minutes per side.

    Pork thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner chop, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Transfer pork chops to a plate and tent with foil. Rest, 3 minutes. Wipe pan clean and keep over medium heat.

    Start the Cabbage

    Add 2 tsp. olive oil, 1 Tbsp. salted butter, onions, bacon, apples, slaw mix, remaining garlic salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until vegetables and apples are tender and slightly browned, 6-8 minutes.

    Finish Cabbage and Add Pork

    Add flour to hot pan and stir until no dry flour remains.

    Add vegetable base and 1/2 cup water. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir in lemon juice until combined, 1-2 minutes.

    Add pork and flip until coated, 60-90 seconds.

    Remove from burner.

    While cabbage cooks, continue recipe.

    Heat Mashed Potatoes and Finish Dish

    Place mashed potatoes in a microwave-safe bowl. Vigorously stir to combine.

    Microwave until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Vigorously stir in softened roasted garlic & herb butter until combined.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card. Bon appétit!
