Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Microwave Instructions

    Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry. Drain brisket, separate slices, and pat dry. Drain beans. Stem cilantro, keeping leaves whole. Cut lime into wedges.

    In provided tray, combine rice and 1 cup water. Microwave uncovered until almost all water is absorbed, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from microwave. Stir in beans, corn, and adobo seasoning. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Top rice evenly with brisket and taco seasoning. Cover tray with a damp paper towel. Microwave covered until rice is tender and brisket is warmed through, 3-4 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from microwave.

    To serve, top brisket with salsa (to taste), cheese, and cilantro. Squeeze lime wedges over to taste. Bon appétit!

    Oven Instructions

    Turn oven on to 375 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes.  Make sure to use conventional oven setting, not convection.Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry.

    In provided tray, combine rice and 1 cup water. Place tray on a baking sheet. Bake uncovered in hot oven until almost all water is absorbed, 8-10 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven.

    Stir in beans, corn, and adobo seasoning. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Top rice evenly with brisket and taco seasoning. Place tray on a baking sheet. Bake again uncovered in hot oven until rice is tender and brisket is heated through, 10-12 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven.

    To serve, top brisket with salsa (to taste), cheese, and cilantro. Squeeze lime wedges over to taste. Bon appétit!
