Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using chicken breasts, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

    Start the Potatoes

    Peel and cut potatoes into large chunks.

    Bring a medium pot with potato chunks covered by water to a boil.

    Once boiling, cook until fork-tender, 14-18 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Reserve 1/2 cup potato cooking water. Drain potatoes in a colander and return to pot.

    While potatoes boil, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Mince chives.

    Combine panko, cheese, and 1 tsp. olive oil on a plate. Spread into an even layer.

    Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides with half the onion salt (reserve remaining for mashed potatoes) and a pinch of pepper.

    Prepare and Bake the Pork

    Evenly spread mayonnaise on one side of pork chops, then place on plate with panko-cheese mixture, pressing gently to adhere to one side.

    Place pork on prepared baking sheet, crusted-side up.

    Roast in hot oven until pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 12-14 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Rest, 3 minutes.

    Pork thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner chop, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    While pork roasts, continue recipe.

    Finish the Potatoes

    Add sour cream, butter, a pinch of salt and pepper, remaining onion salt, and 2 Tbsp. potato cooking water to pot with potatoes.

    Mash until combined and smooth.

    If too thick, add additional potato cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached. Stir in half the chives (reserve remaining for garnish).

    Finish the Dish

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping mashed potatoes with crispy onions and remaining chives. Bon appétit!
