Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

1 Prepare the Ingredients
In one provided tray, combine pasta, cream base, 1/2 cup water, garlic salt, cheddar, and Parmesan. Spread into an even layer and cover tray with foil.
In second provided tray, combine pepper and onion mix, 2 tsp. olive oil, chili powder (to taste), 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the chili powder. Spread into an even layer.Break sausage into bite-sized pieces and top vegetables with sausage in an even layer. -
2 Start the Meal
Bake both trays (mac and cheese covered, sausage uncovered) in hot oven, 15 minutes.
Sausage will finish cooking in a later step.After 15 minutes, carefully remove both trays from oven. Drain excess liquid from sausage tray. Add half the BBQ sauce to sausage tray (reserve remaining for post-bake) and stir to combine. Cover sausage tray with foil.Stir mac and cheese. Cover tray with foil. -
3 Add Sauce and Finish Meal
Bake both trays again covered in hot oven until mac and cheese is bubbling and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 10-12 minutes.
Carefully remove both trays from oven. Stir mac and cheese.Add remaining BBQ sauce (using a clean utensil) to sausage tray and stir to combine.To serve, top mac and cheese with sausage mixture and crispy onions. Bon appétit!
