Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Follow same instructions.

  • If using sirloin steaks, pat dry. Cook until steak reaches desired doneness, or 4-6 minutes per side for medium/medium-well. Rest, 3 minutes. Steak thickness can vary; if you receive a thinner steak, we recommend checking for doneness sooner.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Line a microwave-safe plate with a paper towel. Spread bacon evenly on towel-lined plate.

    Microwave until crisp, 60-90 seconds.

    While bacon microwaves, trim stems off Brussels sprouts and halve vertically (quarter if larger than a ping-pong ball).

    Pat chicken dry and season both sides with half the savory seasoning (reserve remaining for Brussels sprouts).

    Cook the Chicken

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add chicken to hot pan. Cook until browned and chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes per side.

    Evenly top with bacon, then cheese. Cover until cheese is melted, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While chicken cooks, continue recipe.

    Cook the Brussels Sprouts

    Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add Brussels sprouts and 1/4 cup water to hot pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, cover and stir occasionally until water is almost completely evaporated, 3-5 minutes.

    Uncover and add remaining savory seasoning. Stir occasionally until Brussels sprouts are tender and browned, 2-4 minutes.

    Stir in butter (to taste) until melted and combined, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    While Brussels sprouts cook, continue recipe.

    Heat Mashed Potatoes and Finish Dish

    Place mashed potatoes and a pinch of salt in a microwave-safe bowl. Vigorously stir to combine.

    Microwave uncovered until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Vigorously stir to combine.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping chicken with dressing. Slice chicken, if desired. Bon appétit!
