Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using antibiotic free chicken, pat dry. Cook until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes per side.

If using diced chicken breasts, pat dry. Stir occasionally until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

1 Cook Pasta and Prepare Ingredients
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 10-12 minutes.
Remove from burner. Reserve 1 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander/strainer and set aside. Reserve pot; no need to wipe clean.While pasta cooks, halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.Pat shrimp dry and season all over with fiesta seasoning. -
2 Cook the Vegetables
Return pot used to cook pasta to medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add onions and peppers to hot pot and stir occasionally until tender and lightly browned, 6-8 minutes. -
3 Add the Shrimp
Add shrimp to hot pot and stir occasionally until pink, 3-4 minutes.
Shrimp will finish cooking in a later step. -
4 Add the Sauce
Add tomatoes, garlic salt, red pepper flakes (use less if spice-averse), and 3/4 cup reserved pasta cooking water to hot pot. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the red pepper flakes. -
5 Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Once simmering, add pasta to hot pot. Stir occasionally until shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 3-5 minutes.
If sauce is too thick, add additional reserved pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.Remove from burner and stir in butter until melted and combined.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping pasta with cheese. Bon appétit!
