You Will Need
Before You Cook
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

Prepare The Ingredients
Stem, seed, remove ribs, and cut red bell pepper into ½" strips.
Halve and peel onion. Slice halves into thin strips.
Prepare The Sausage
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. Place on prepared baking sheet and push to one side.
Add Potatoes and Vegetables
Add potatoes to empty side of tray and toss with 3 tsp olive oil, garlic pepper, a pinch of salt and pepper. Push to one corner.
Add peppers and onions to tray and toss with 3 tsp olive oil.
Roast in a hot oven until vegetables are tender and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 25-30 minutes.
Toast the Buns
After 20 minutes, add buns to remaining prepared baking sheet. Top evenly with cheese. Roast in a hot oven until cheese is melted and buns are lightly browned, 3-5 minutes.
Heat the Sauce and Finish the Dish
Add marinara sauce and minced garlic to a small bowl until completely combined. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.
