Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F
Customize It Instructions

If using scallops, pat dry. Cook until scallops reach minimum internal temperature, 1-2 minutes per side. Scallops will vary in amount as they are portioned by weight. Don't worry, the sweet flavor and tender texture will be the same.

If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Cook in a large non-stick pan with 2 tsp. olive oil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

1 Cook the Pasta
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 7-9 minutes.
Remove from burner. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander and set aside.While pasta cooks, continue recipe. -
2 Prepare the Ingredients
Mince chives.
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.Mince garlic.Line a plate with a paper towel. Spread bacon on towel-lined plate and microwave until crisp, 1-2 minutes.Pat shrimp dry. Season all over with 1/4 tsp. salt and a pinch of pepper. -
3 Caramelize the Onions
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.
Add onions to hot pan and stir occasionally until softened and browned, 10-12 minutes.If pan becomes dry, add water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, as needed. -
4 Make the Mac and Cheese
Add 2 tsp. olive oil and flour to hot pan with onions. Stir occasionally until no dry flour remains, 30-60 seconds.
Add reserved pasta cooking water and 1/2 cup water, stirring constantly.Stir in cream cheese, cheddar, Parmesan, and a pinch of salt until melted and combined. Stir in pasta until coated.Remove from burner. Set aside. -
5 Cook Shrimp and Finish Dish
Place another large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil. Add shrimp to hot pan and cook on one side, 2-3 minutes.
Add garlic and half the chives (reserve remaining for garnish). Flip shrimp and cook until pink and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 2-3 minutes.Remove from burner. Transfer shrimp to pan with mac and cheese and stir to combine.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing with bacon and remaining chives. Bon appétit!
