Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Start the Mashed Potatoes

    Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry. Spray provided tray with cooking spray.

    Add mashed potatoes and cream cheese to prepared provided tray and stir vigorously to combine. Cream cheese will melt as meal bakes.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until heated through, 5-7 minutes.

    While potatoes bake, continue recipe.

    Add the Chicken

    In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine panko and 1 tsp. olive oil.

    Pat chicken dry and season both sides with 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper.

    After 5-7 minutes, carefully remove tray from oven. Add butter to mashed potatoes and stir vigorously to combine. Push to one side of tray. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Place chicken in now-empty side of tray. Top chicken with an even layer of fig spread, then panko mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until panko is brown and crispy and chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    While meal bakes, thinly slice chives.

    Carefully remove tray from oven.

    Transfer chicken to a plate. Vigorously stir mashed potatoes and top with blue cheese (to taste).

    To serve, garnish mashed potatoes with crispy onions and chives. Bon appétit!
