  • If using steak strips, pat dry, coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Stir occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes. Rest, 3 minutes.

  1. 1

    Start the Fried Rice

Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

Add mushrooms and slaw mix to hot pan. Stir occasionally until browned, 4-6 minutes.

  2. 2

    Finish the Fried Rice

Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.

Add 1 tsp. olive oil, rice, peas, umami seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and soy sauce to hot pan. Stir occasionally until peas and rice are heated through, 3-5 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

While fried rice cooks, continue recipe.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

    Pat chicken dry.

Place another large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

Add chicken, five spice seasoning, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until golden-brown and chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Sauces and Finish Dish

Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the BBQ sauce. Add garlic sesame sauce, BBQ sauce (to taste), and cashews to hot pan. Stir often until combined and chicken is evenly coated, 1-2 minutes.
