Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using diced chicken thighs follow same instructions as shrimp in Steps 2 and 3, baking until chicken reaches minimum internal temperature, 20-25 minutes. Don't worry about trimming. Excess fat will render while cooking and add flavor.

  • If using ground turkey, break up into bite-size pieces and season with ¼ tsp. salt. Top ingredients evenly with turkey. Follow same instructions as shrimp in Step 3, baking until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 17-20 minutes.

  • If using Impossible burger, break up into bite-size pieces and season with ¼ tsp. salt. Top ingredients evenly with burger. Follow same instructions as shrimp in Step 3, baking until burger is heated through, 17-20 minutes.

    Start the Rice

    Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry.

    In provided tray, combine rice, cream base, 1/4 cup water, and half the garlic salt (reserve remaining for spinach).

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until edges begin to bubble, 10-12 minutes.

    While rice bakes, continue recipe.

    Add the Shrimp and Spinach

    Pat shrimp dry. Season all over with 1/4 tsp. salt.

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Top rice evenly with spinach, remaining garlic salt, shrimp, a pinch of pepper, and 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Bake the Meal

    Bake again uncovered in hot oven until shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 15-20 minutes.

    While meal bakes, crumble walnuts in shipping bag.

    Carefully remove tray from oven. Stir in half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish) until combined and melted.

    To serve, garnish with remaining cheese and walnuts. Bon appétit!
