Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground beef or Italian sausage, follow same instructions.

1 Start the Chili
Place ground pork in provided tray, breaking into bite-sized pieces. Stir in mixed peppers, onions, 2 tsp. olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper until combined. Spread into an even layer.
Bake uncovered in hot oven, 20 minutes.Pork will finish cooking in a later step.Carefully remove from oven and drain any excess liquid. Tray will be hot! Use caution. -
2 Add the Beans and Sauce
Drain and rinse beans in a colander/strainer.
Stir beans, tomato sauce, salsa (use less if spice-averse), 2 Tbsp. water, chili powder (use less if spice-averse), taco seasoning, and a pinch of salt into pork mixture until combined. Spread into an even layer. -
3 Finish Chili and Finish Meal
Bake uncovered in hot oven until chili is bubbling and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 15-20 minutes.
Carefully remove from oven.To serve, top chili with cheese and tortilla strips. Bon appétit!
