Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F
  1. 1

    Prepare the Ham

    Refrigerate until use.

Move oven rack to lowest position. Turn oven on to 325 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes.

Remove ham from packaging. Place ham, cut-side down, in an oven-safe dish or roasting pan. Cover with lid or foil.

  2. 2

    Start the Ham

Bake ham covered in hot oven on lowest rack, 70 minutes.

Be careful not to overcook. Ham will dry out!

    While ham bakes, make glaze.

  3. 3

    Add Glaze and Finish Ham

    Open glaze packet.

In a mixing bowl, combine glaze with 2 Tbsp. warm water until a spreadable consistency is reached. If too thick, add additional warm water, 1 tsp. at a time, as needed.

After 70 minutes, carefully remove ham from oven and remove foil. Brush or pour glaze over ham.

Bake again on lowest rack uncovered until ham reaches a minimum internal temperature of 140 degrees, 10-20 minutes.

If browning too fast, loosely replace foil or lid over ham.

Carefully remove from oven. Rest, 15-20 minutes.

    Serve family-style. Bon appétit!
