If using ground beef, break up until beef until no pink remains and beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using Italian sausage, break up sausage until no pink remains and sausage reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

1 Toast the Flatbreads
Place flatbreads on prepared baking sheet.
Bake in hot oven until flatbread edges are slightly browned, 8-10 minutes.Carefully remove from oven.While flatbreads toast, continue recipe. -
2 Cook the Onions
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" slices.
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.Add onions and a pinch of salt to hot pan. Stir occasionally until tender and slightly browned, 6-8 minutes.Remove from burner. Transfer onions to a plate. Wipe pan clean and reserve. -
3 Cook the Steak Strips
Pat steak strips dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces.
Return pan used to cook onions to medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add steak strips and garlic pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until no pink remains and steak strips reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 4-6 minutes.Stir in 1/2 Tbsp. butter, beef base, and 2 Tbsp. water until steak strips are coated, 1-2 minutes.Remove from burner and rest, 3 minutes. -
4 Assemble and Bake Flatbreads and Finish Dish
In a mixing bowl, combine pesto and softened cream cheese.
Evenly divide cream cheese mixture between flatbreads. Spread into an even layer, then evenly top with steak strips, onions, and shredded cheeses.Bake in hot oven until flatbreads are golden-brown and cheese is melted, 5-7 minutes.While flatbreads bake, mince chives.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping flatbread with chives. Quarter, if desired. Bon appétit!
