Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

  • Ground Turkey 165° F |

    Bake the Green Beans

    Trim green beans, if necessary.

    In one provided tray, combine green beans, 2 tsp. olive oil, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven, 35-40 minutes.

    Carefully remove tray from oven and drain any excess liquid. Gently stir in sesame oil*.

    While green beans bake, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Meatballs

    Combine panko and 2 Tbsp. water in a mixing bowl. Rest, 1 minute.

    After 1 minute, add black garlic seasoning, ground beef, 1/4 tsp. salt, and crème fraîche. Mix until thoroughly combined. Form mixture into 16 equally-sized meatballs.

    Place meatballs in second provided tray. Add diced peppers, sweet and sour sauce, and 1/3 the soy sauce (reserve remaining for rice). Gently stir until coated and combined.

    Bake Meatballs and Heat Rice

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until peppers are tender and meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    While meatballs bake, carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps. Remove rice from packaging. Place rice, remaining soy sauce, and 1 tsp. olive oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Rest, 2 minutes.

    Fluff rice with a fork. Set aside.

    Carefully remove meatball tray from oven and stir.

    To serve, top rice with green beans and meatball mixture. Bon appétit!
