Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/2" dice.

    Trim and thinly slice green onions.

    Par-Bake the Flatbreads

    Place flatbreads directly on oven rack.

    Bake in hot oven until lightly browned, 6-8 minutes.

    While flatbreads par-bake, continue recipe.

    Cook the Turkey Mixture

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tsp. olive oil.

    Add ground turkey, bell peppers, and taco seasoning to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 7-9 minutes.

    Add tomato sauce, stirring occasionally until heated through, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    Assemble the Flatbreads

    After 6-8 minutes, carefully remove flatbreads from oven.

    Kids want to help? With supervision, have them help assemble the flatbreads.

    Place flatbreads on prepared baking sheets. Evenly top with turkey mixture, then cheese.

    Bake Flatbreads and Finish Dish

    Bake in hot oven until flatbread edges are brown and crispy, 12-14 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    Kids not a fan of extra heat? Feel free to skip/reduce the salsa.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping flatbread with chipotle crema, salsa (to taste), and green onions. Bon appétit!
