To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    PREPARE INGREDIENTS

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Quarter apple and remove core. Cut into ½" slices. small dice butter. In a small mix bowl combine corn starch with 1 Tbsp of cold water to make a slurry.

    Place a medium sauce pan over medium heat and 1 ¼ cup of water, ¼ tsp salt, turbinado sugar, cranberries and honey. Bring mixture to a simmer and add cornstarch slurry, stir until liquid begins to thicken slightly. In a medium bowl combine apple slices and ¼ tsp salt with thickened sugar mixture, mix well. pour filling into a medium casserole dish.

    Crumble topping and Bake Dish

    Combine flour, butter, brown sugar and ¼ tsp salt in a medium mixing bowl. With your hands, work in butter pieces into flour, until large clumps form. evenly sprinkle crumble topping over apple filling. Bake uncovered in hot oven topping is golden brown, 25-30 minutes.
