Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

Prepare The Ingredients
Drain beans.
Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/2" dice. -
Start The Meal
In a clean slow cooker, combine chicken, onion, garlic salt, chicken broth, and 3 cups water.
Turn slow cooker on to low heat. Cover, and cook until chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 4-5 hours. -
Add Ingredients
After 4-5 hours, stir in cornstarch, beans, salsa, and corn.
