Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

If using ground turkey, add meatballs to hot pan and cook until turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 11-13 minutes.

1 Roast the Fries
Cut potatoes into 1/2" fries and pat dry.
Place fries, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, and a pinch of salt on one prepared baking sheet. Massage oil and seasoning into fries. Spread into an even layer. Have a little sous chef around? With supervision, have them help season and massage the fries.Roast in hot oven, 15 minutes.Carefully remove from oven. Stir in everything bagel seasoning and 1/4 tsp. salt until combined. Sheet will be hot! Use a utensil.Roast again in hot oven until fries are golden-brown and tender, 15-20 minutes.While fries roast, continue recipe. -
2 Form the Meatballs
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ricotta, panko, mayonnaise, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and half the Italian seasoning (reserve remaining for sauce).
Form mixture into 16 evenly-sized meatballs. -
3 Cook the Meatballs
Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.
Add meatballs to hot pan and roll occasionally until browned all over, 4-6 minutes.Drain any excess liquid from pan, if desired. Reduce heat to medium-low.Add tomato sauce and remaining Italian seasoning. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.Once simmering, cover and stir occasionally until meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-7 minutes.Remove from burner. -
4 Assemble the Subs
Open rolls slightly (keeping roll intact).
Evenly divide meatballs between rolls. Evenly top with sauce from pan, then shredded cheese.Place filled rolls on second prepared baking sheet. -
5 Bake Subs and Finish Dish
Bake in hot oven until cheese is melted and rolls are slightly toasted, 2-3 minutes.
Carefully remove from oven.Plate dish as pictured on front of card. Bon appétit!
