A note about serious food allergies

Let's face it; turkey's got a rep. It's the ground beef alternative, it's good for you, it walks old ladies down the street and does its taxes on January 1. But this burger here isn't the kind Moms point to and say "why can't you be like him." The burger's the life of the party, with gooey cheese sauce on top, spicy crispy jalapeños adding a kicking crunch, and a bed of rich guacamole to sit on. This turkey burger's got a rep, too, a flavor rep.

Customize It Instructions

  • If using 20 oz. ground turkey, follow same instructions as 10 oz. ground beef, forming four patties and stacking two to serve.

  • If using ground pork, follow same instructions as ground turkey in Steps 2 and 3, cooking until pork reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  • If using ground beef, follow same instructions as ground turkey in Steps 2 and 3, cooking until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes per side.

  • If using Impossible burger, follow same instructions as ground beef in Steps 2 and 3, cooking until burger is heated through, 4-6 minutes per side.

  1. 1

    Roast the Fries

Cut potatoes into 1/4" fries and pat dry.

Place fries on prepared baking sheet and toss with 1 tsp. olive oil, half the fajita seasoning (reserve remaining for patties), and 1/4 tsp. salt. Massage oil and seasoning into potatoes. Spread into a single layer.

Roast in hot oven until lightly browned, 25-30 minutes, tossing halfway through.

    Carefully remove from oven.

    While fries roast, continue recipe.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Combine ground turkey, salsa (use less if spice-averse), panko, and remaining fajita seasoning in a mixing bowl.

Form into 2 evenly-sized patties, about 5" in diameter.

  3. 3

    Toast Buns and Cook Patties

Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add buns, cut side down, to hot pan. Cook until toasted, 1-2 minutes.

Transfer buns to a plate. Keep pan over medium heat.

Add 1 tsp. olive oil and patties to hot pan. Cook until browned on one side, 4-6 minutes.

Flip patties, add 2 Tbsp. water, and cover pan. Cook until patties reach a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 4-6 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

  4. 4

    Make the Cheese Sauce

Place a small pot over medium-high heat. Add 1/4 cup water, softened cream cheese, and a pinch of salt to hot pot. Bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir constantly until smooth, 1-2 minutes.

Remove from burner. Stir in shredded cheese until melted and smooth. If sauce is too thick, add additional water, 1 tsp. at a time until desired consistency is reached.

  5. 5

    Finish the Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with guacamole, patty, cheese sauce, crispy jalapeños (to taste), and top bun. Bon appétit!
