A note about serious food allergies

Primavera sounds like a famous opera singer, or ballet dancer, or other arty European thing, but you know what? Primavera was born right here in the U.S. of A., land of the free and home of the brave. (But it was made famous in a restaurant called Le Cirque. We smell arty!) We've ditched the traditional pasta for rice, but kept the fresh vegetables and creamy sauce. We also added some Chesapeake seasoning (speaking of old U.S. of A.) to add a special seafood-y touch. Don't let names fool you.

  • If using 16 oz. shrimp, follow same instructions as 8 oz. shrimp, working in batches if necessary.

  • If using ground turkey, follow same instructions as shrimp in Step 3, breaking up turkey until no pink remains and turkey reaches minimum internal temperature, 7-9 minutes.

  • If using Impossible burger, follow same instructions as shrimp in Step 3, breaking up burger until heated through, 4-6 minutes.

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

    Mince garlic.

Bring a small pot with rice, garlic, a pinch of salt, and 11/4 cups water to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook until rice is tender, 15-18 minutes.

Remove from burner and set aside covered.

    While rice cooks, prepare ingredients.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ingredients

Stem, seed, remove ribs, and cut green bell pepper into 1" dice.

Trim zucchini ends, halve lengthwise, and cut into 1/2” half-moons.

Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate.

    Pat shrimp dry.

  3. 3

    Cook the Shrimp

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add shrimp and a pinch of pepper to hot pan and cook until opaque and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 2-3 minutes per side.

Transfer shrimp to a plate. Reserve pan; no need to wipe clean.

  4. 4

    Make the Sauce

Return pan used to cook shrimp to medium-high heat. Add 2 tsp. olive oil and green bell pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until slightly tender, 3-5 minutes.

Add 2 cups zucchini (any remaining is yours to use as you please!), white portions of green onions, seasoning blend, and a pinch of salt. Stir occasionally until zucchini is tender, 3-4 minutes.

Stir in cream base and tomatoes. Bring to a simmer.

Once simmering, stir in shrimp until combined. Remove from burner.

  5. 5

    Finish the Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping rice with shrimp and vegetables. Garnish with crispy onions and green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
