Recipe Steps

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F
  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Spray grill with cooking spray and heat grill to medium heat.

Form ground beef into two patties, about 4" in diameter. Season both sides with a pinch of salt and pepper and drizzle with 1/2 tsp. olive oil.

If using 20 oz ground beef, form into four patties and follow same instructions. If using ground turkey, follow same instructions.

Place potatoes, onions, seasoned salt, and 1 tsp. olive oil in provided grill bag. Roll open end of bag to seal and gently shake to mix.

  2. 2

    Grill the Meal

Place grill bag on hot grill, window side up, and cook until onions are translucent, 15-18 minutes. Do not close grill; heat from a closed grill will cause grill bag window to melt.

After 10 minutes, place patties on hot grill. Grill until patties reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 3-4 minutes per side.

If using 20 oz ground beef, cook four patties following the same instructions. If using ground turkey, follow same instructions, cooking until turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees.

Remove patties from grill and top with cheese.

Place buns on grill, cut-side down, and toast, 30-60 seconds.

  3. 3

    Finish the Dish

Carefully, open grill bag and scoop out potatoes.

Slather bottom bun with chipotle mayo.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, placing burger on bun and topping with chimichurri, tortilla strips, and top bun. Garnish potatoes with sour cream. Bon appétit!

  4. 4

    For a Rainy Day...

If cooking indoors, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet with foil and cooking spray. Toss potatoes and onions with 1 tsp. olive oil and seasoned salt on prepared baking sheet. Spread into a single layer and bake in hot oven until softened and browned, 12-15 minutes. Follow same instructions for forming burger patties. Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add patties to hot pan. Cook until lightly charred and beef reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes per side. Toast buns in hot oven, 2-3 minutes. Follow instructions for plating. Bon appétit!
