If using 16 oz. Italian sausage, follow same instructions as 8 oz. Italian sausage, working in batches, if necessary.

If using ground beef, follow same instructions as Italian sausage in Step 1, breaking up until no pink remains and beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

If using ground pork, follow same instructions as Italian sausage in Step 1, breaking up until no pink remains and pork reaches minimum internal temperature, 5-7 minutes.

If using steak strips, spread into a single layer, pat dry, and coarsely chop. Follow same instructions as Italian sausage in Step 1, stirring occasionally until steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

1 Cook the Sausage
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary.
Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.Add 1 tsp. olive oil and Italian sausage to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.While sausage cooks, continue recipe. -
2 Prepare Ingredients and Add Mushrooms
Cut mushrooms into 1/4" slices.
Stem thyme and finely chop leaves.Add mushrooms to hot pan and stir constantly until golden, 2-3 minutes.Stir in garlic salt and a pinch of pepper. -
3 Make the Sauce
Add flour to hot pan and stir until almost fully absorbed. There will be dry spots.
Add Marsala, half the thyme (reserve remaining for garnish), cream sauce base, and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a simmer.Once simmering, stir constantly until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, 2-3 minutes. -
4 Add Pasta and Finish Dish
Add pasta and half the cheese (reserve remaining for garnish) to hot pan. Stir until combined and pasta is coated, 1-2 minutes.
Remove from burner.Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing with remaining cheese and remaining thyme. Bon appétit!
