Before You Cook
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

cook the pasta
Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 8-10 minutes.
Reserve ¼ cup pasta water.
Drain and rinse pasta under cold water.

Coarsely chop spinach
Zest and halve lemon. Cut one half into wedges and juice the other half.
Remove sausage from casing.
toast the breacrumbs
Place a small non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add breadcrumbs to hot pan.
Toast 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until breadcrumbs are golden brown. Remove to a bowl and stir in 1 tsp. lemon zest.
cook the sausage
Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Add 1 tsp. olive oil, italian sausage, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Break into smaller pieces until no pink remains and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 4-6 minutes.
Add spinach to pan, and cook 1-2 minutes, stirring often, until wilted.
make sauce and finish dish
Add sauce base, pasta water, parmesan, and a pinch of salt and pepper to pan with sausage and spinach.
Simmer 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cheese is incorporated, and sauce thickens.
Remove from burner and stir in 1 tsp. lemon juice and spaghetti
Plate as pictured on front of card. Garnish pasta with toasted breadcrumbs.
