Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Trim and thinly slice green onions on an angle, keeping white and green portions separate. Cut mushrooms into ¼" slices.

    Cook Pork and Mushrooms

    Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add white portions of green onions to hot pan and stir occasionally until softened, 30-60 seconds. Add ground pork and a pinch of salt and pepper. Break up meat until starting to brown, 2-3 minutes. Add mushrooms and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir occasionally until mushrooms are browned and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 3-5 minutes.

    Make the Sauce

    Add ⅓ cup water, chicken base, garlic salt, and a pinch of pepper to pork. Bring to a simmer. Once simmering, stir occasionally until thickened slightly, 2-3 minutes. Stir in pasta until heated through and coated with sauce, 1-2 minutes. Remove from burner and stir in sour cream and green portions of green onions (reserve a pinch for garnish).

    Broil Bread and Finish Dish

    Place bread on baking sheet, cut-sides up. Drizzle with 2 tsp. olive oil and top evenly with Parmesan. Broil until toasted and cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes. Keep an eye on oven as bread may burn easily under broiler. Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing pasta with remaining green portions of green onions. Bon appétit!
