Before You Cook

Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using ground beef, break up until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

    Cook the Pasta

    Once water is boiling, add pasta and cook until al dente, 11-13 minutes.

    Remove from burner. Reserve 3/4 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in a colander and set aside.

    While pasta cooks, continue recipe.

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Tear Gouda into smaller pieces.

    Cut broccoli into 1" pieces.

    Mince garlic.

    Cook the Turkey

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add ground turkey, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper to hot pan. Break up turkey until no pink remains, 7-9 minutes.

    Add garlic and bacon and stir occasionally until fragrant and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 1-2 minutes.

    While turkey cooks, continue recipe.

    Cook the Broccoli

    Place another medium non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add broccoli, 1/4 cup water, and a pinch of salt and pepper to hot pan. Cover and cook until water is evaporated and broccoli is mostly tender, 3-4 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    Add Sauce and Pasta and Finish Dish

    Add flour to hot pan with turkey and stir until no dry flour remains.

    Stir in 1/2 cup pasta cooking water, Gouda, softened cream cheese, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Bring to a simmer.

    Once simmering, stir in broccoli and pasta. Stir often until combined and heated through, 1-2 minutes.

    If too thick, add remaining pasta cooking water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

    Remove from burner.

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, garnishing with crispy onions. Bon appétit!
