Before You Cook
Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |
- Chicken 165° F |
- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |
- Ground Pork 160° F

1 Start the Vegetables
Combine peppers, kale, Brussels sprouts, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, a pinch of salt, and half the blackening seasoning (reserve remaining for rice) in provided tray. Massage oil and seasonings into vegetables. Spread into an even layer.
Bake uncovered in hot oven, 10 minutes.While vegetables bake, continue recipe. -
2 Add the Rice and Shrimp
Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging.
Pat shrimp dry. Season all over with Cajun seasoning (use less if spice-averse).After 10 minutes, carefully remove tray from oven.Stir in rice, remaining blackening seasoning, and a pinch of salt until combined. Spread into an even layer. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.Evenly top with shrimp, then butter. Cover tray with foil. Butter will melt as meal bakes. -
3 Bake the Meal
Bake covered in hot oven until rice is heated through and shrimp reach a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 20-25 minutes.
Carefully remove from oven.To serve, top shrimp and rice mixture with remoulade. Bon appétit!
