A note about serious food allergies

A tropical island is mere fantasia right now, what with the cold weather at home and… well… 2020. But you can get a taste here of the treasured island life: sweet mango and pulled pork together bring a sweet and savory balance that can't be beat, and the slightly spicy slaw almost satiates those wistful yearnings for palm trees and warm breezes. Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |

Customize It Instructions

  • If using Impossible burger, follow same instructions as pulled pork in Step 1, breaking into smaller pieces and cooking until heated through, 2-3 minutes.

  • If using steak strips, separate into a single layer and pat dry. Follow same instructions as pulled pork in Step 1, stirring occasionally until no pink remains and steak reaches minimum internal temperature, 4-6 minutes.

  1. 1

    Cook the Pulled Pork

Coarsely chop pulled pork. Excess pork fat will render while cooking and add flavor. Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Add pulled pork, spice rub, ¼ cup water, ¼ tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally, breaking up pork, until pork is warmed through, 2-3 minutes. Remove from burner and stir in mango chutney. Transfer pork to a plate. Wipe pan clean and reserve.

  2. 2

    Toast the Rolls

Return pan used to cook pork to medium heat. Add rolls, cut side down, and cook until lightly toasted, 1-2 minutes. Remove from burner. Remove rolls from pan.

  3. 3

    Make the Slaw

Mix slaw mix and chili lime dressing (to taste) in a mixing bowl until completely combined.

  4. 4

    Finish the Dish

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom buns evenly with mayonnaise, pulled pork, arugula, crispy jalapeños (to taste), and top bun. Bon appétit!
