Cooking Guidelines
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
- Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
- Seafood 145° F |

- Ground Beef 160° F |
- Ground Turkey 165° F |

If using ground beef, bake uncovered in hot oven until beef reaches minimum internal temperature, 17-20 minutes.

If using Impossible burger, bake uncovered in hot oven until burger reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 18-20 minutes.

1 Start the Italian Sausage and Kale
Turn oven on to 425 degrees. Let preheat, at least 10 minutes. Thoroughly rinse any fresh produce and pat dry.
Remove Italian sausage from casing, if necessary. Add sausage (breaking into smaller pieces) and kale to provided tray. Cover with foil.Bake covered in hot oven until sausage has browned, 15-20 minutes.Sausage will finish cooking in a later step. -
2 Add the Sauce and Pasta
While meal bakes, in a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, half the garlic pepper (reserve remaining for pasta), a pinch of salt, and 1 Tbsp. water.
Carefully remove tray from oven. Add marinara, tomato puree, 2 Tbsp. water, remaining garlic pepper, and pasta to tray and stir until combined and pasta is coated. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.Top evenly with shredded cheese, panko, and dollops of ricotta mixture. -
3 Bake the Meal
Bake again uncovered in hot oven until cheese melts, panko browns, and sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 10-12 minutes.
Carefully remove from oven. Bon appétit!
