Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Cook Pasta

    Place a large pot of water on high heat. Once water is boiling, add 1/4 tsp salt and pasta and cook until al dente, 10-12 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water. Drain and set pasta aside.

    While pasta cooks

    Cut Veggies

    Cut mushrooms into 1/4" slices.

    Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" dice.

    Mince chives

    Make turkey

    Return pot used for pasta to medium heat. "Heat 2 tsp. olive oil

    Add ground turkey, 1/4 tsp salt, mushrooms and onions to hot pan. Break up meat until no pink remains and turkey reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 7-9 minutes. "

    Finish Sauce

    Add cream sauce base, garlic salt, a pinch of pepper, mirepoix base and reserved pasta water. Stir to combine. When everything is hot and bubbling, add mozzarella and remove from heat. Stir gently just to fold in the mozzarella.

    Plate the meal

    Plate dish, it will be stringy and cheesy. Top remaining chives.
