Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Bake the Sauce and Sausage

    Evenly divide flour, marinara, cream cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, 3/4 cup water, and a pinch of salt and pepper between both provided trays. Stir to combine. Spread into an even layer. Cream cheese will melt as meal bakes.

    Break sausage into bite-sized pieces and evenly top both trays. Evenly top sausage with spinach. Cover both trays with foil.

    Bake both trays covered in hot oven until sausage reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 20-22 minutes.

    Carefully remove both trays from oven.

    Add the Pasta and Cheese

    Uncover both trays and stir to combine, breaking up sausage again into bite-sized pieces. Tray will be hot! Use a utensil.

    Evenly divide pasta, pesto, and half the Parmesan (reserve remaining for garnish) between both trays. Stir to combine and spread into an even layer.

    Evenly top each tray with mozzarella.

    Finish the Meal

    Bake both trays again uncovered in hot oven until pasta is heated through, 5-7 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven and stir to combine. Trays will be hot! Use a utensil.

    To serve, top pasta with remaining Parmesan. Bon appétit!
