Customize It Instructions

  • If using steak strips, follow same instructions.

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

    Coarsely tear cheese.

Remove stem, seeds, and ribs, and cut bell pepper into 1/4" slices.

Halve and peel onion. Cut halves into 1/4" slices.

Pat sliced pork dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Season all over with 3/4 the mushroom seasoning (reserve remaining for jus) and a pinch of salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Toast the Rolls

Place a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil.

Working in batches, if needed, place rolls, cut-side down, in hot pan. Toast until slightly browned, 1-2 minutes.

Transfer rolls to a plate. Wipe pan clean and keep over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Pork Mixture

Add 2 tsp. olive oil, bell peppers, onions, pork, and a pinch of pepper to hot pan. Stir occasionally until browned and pork reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees, 8-10 minutes.

Add half the beef base (reserve remaining for jus) and 1 Tbsp. water. Stir constantly until pork mixture is coated, 60-90 seconds.

Evenly top with cheese. Cover until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes.

Remove from burner. Rest, 3 minutes.

While pork mixture cooks, continue recipe.

  4. 4

    Make Jus and Finish Dish

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 Tbsp. butter and remaining mushroom seasoning. Microwave uncovered until butter is melted, 20-30 seconds.

Carefully remove from microwave. Stir in remaining beef base and 1/4 cup water until combined. Microwave again uncovered until heated through, 30-60 seconds.

Carefully remove from microwave and stir to combine.

Plate dish as pictured on front of card, filling roll with pork mixture. Serve jus on the side for dipping. Bon appétit!
