Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

    Roast the Potatoes

    Halve potatoes lengthwise.

    Place potatoes on prepared baking sheet and toss with 2 tsp. olive oil, garlic salt, and a pinch of pepper.

    Spread into a single layer and roast until golden brown and fork-tender, 18-20 minutes.

    While potatoes roast, prepare pork.

    Start the Burgers

    Mince garlic.

    In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, garlic, 1/4 tsp. salt, and a pinch of pepper. Form into two patties, about 5" in diameter.

    Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add patties to hot pan.

    Cook until lightly charred and patties reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-6 minutes per side.

    Finish the Burgers

    Top patties with cheese. Cover, and cook until cheese has melted, 1-2 minutes.

    Remove patties to a plate and tent with foil. Wipe pan clean and reserve.

    Toast the Buns

    Return pan used to cook patties to medium heat.

    Add buns, cut side down, to hot, dry pan. Toast buns until lightly browned, 2-3 minutes.

    Remove from burner.

    Finish the Dish

    Plate dish as pictured on front of card, topping bottom bun with mayonnaise, patty, tapenade, and top bun. Bon appétit!
