Before You Cook
To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:
Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |

Ground Pork 160° F
Roast The Potatoes
Halve potatoes lengthwise. Toss fingerling potatoes with 2 tsp. olive oil, garlic salt, and a pinch of pepper on prepared baking sheet. Spread into a single layer and roast until golden brown and fork-tender, 18-20 minutes.
While potatoes roast, prepare the pork
Cook The Pork
Form ground pork and garlic into two patties, 5" in diameter. Season both sides with ¼ tsp. salt and a pinch of pepper.
Place a medium non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add patties to hot pan. Cook until lightly charred and patties reaches a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees, 5-6 minutes per side.
Top patties with cheese. Cover and cook until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes.
Transfer patties to a plate and tent.
Reserve pan; wipe clean.
Toast The Buns
Place buns cut side down in pan. Toast bread until lightly toasted, 2-3 minutes.
Finish The Dish
