Cooking Guidelines

To ensure food safety, the FDA recommends the following as minimum internal cooking temperatures:

  • Steak and Pork 145° F (rest cooked meat, 3 minutes) |
  • Seafood 145° F |
  • Chicken 165° F |
  • Ground Beef 160° F |
  • Ground Turkey 165° F |
  • Ground Pork 160° F

Customize It Instructions

  • If using antibiotic free chicken, follow same instructions.

    Start Brussels Sprouts and Prepare Ingredients

    Place Brussels sprouts in provided tray and toss with 1 tsp. olive oil and a pinch of salt. Spread into an even layer.

    Bake uncovered in hot oven until lightly tender, 8-10 minutes.

    While Brussels sprouts bake, tear spinach leaves.

    Remove puff pastry from refrigerator. Remove any paper between puff pastry squares, if necessary. If paper is sticking, place puff pastry in freezer until firm, 5 minutes.

    Halve puff pastry lengthwise to form two evenly-sized rectangles.

    In a microwave-safe bowl, combine spinach, cream cheese, 1 tsp. water, and a pinch of salt.

    Microwave uncovered until spinach is wilted and cream cheese is melted, 45-60 seconds.

    Carefully remove from microwave. Stir in shredded cheese until melted and combined.

    Add the Rice and Chicken

    After 8-10 minutes, carefully remove tray from oven.

    Carefully massage rice in bag to break up any clumps and remove from packaging. Add rice and piri piri seasoning (to taste) to tray and stir to combine. Push rice mixture to one side. Evenly top with 1/2 Tbsp. salted butter.

    Cover rice mixture side with foil. Butter will melt as meal bakes.

    Pat chicken dry. Season both sides with 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper.

    Place chicken in empty side of tray and top evenly with spinach-cream cheese mixture, then puff pastry, pressing gently to adhere.

    Finish the Meal

    Bake half-covered (rice mixture covered, chicken uncovered) in hot oven until rice is heated through, puff pastry is browned, and chicken reaches a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees, 20-25 minutes.

    Carefully remove from oven. Uncover and stir rice to combine. Bon appétit!
